I'd like to send you a "textural" message.
Does that sound too scandalous? Ok.Well maybe, but get your mind out of the gutter and up into some fabrics. Today I'm talking all things texture and the importance of it in a shoot. Some may call me a fabric hoarder or " the Queen of fabric styling" and some may call me a space cowboy but that's for a whole other newsletter. The one thing that immediately changes your photoshoot set is texture. It adds interest, dimension and character. easiest way to achieve that? FABRIC. Colours, shapes, textures, oh my. The possibilities are endless. Here is a few examples of some shoots using all sorts of fabrics.
Another textural element I love to work with is textiles like rugs and tapestries. It.is.delicious.
Basically, I'm trying to tell you that using textiles and fabrics makes for a textured, multidimensional image. One that tends to speak to you without using words. It helps tell a story and creates a mood. It's tasty.
Well that’s all for now!
