One Room Challenge -Week Five
UMMMMMM where has the time gone?? honestly I can’t even.
This weeks update is just to report that all things sponsorships have arrived and I am So pumped to style! I have painted the desk I am using and I finished a DIY using Pretty Pegs Legs! Let me take you on a photographical journey.
First off I had mentioned before that I decided to not unhook my salon hair sink as it is the handiest thing ever but I WAS finding that the half of the room where it is installed was basically unusable space. Enter a standing work station! I had an ikea top from my old office and through hacking it, we were bale to extend it high enough to go over the sink while still using the gorgeous Estelle 700 Pretty Peg legs!
Here’s a quick diagram of what we did!
I hopped over to Windsor plywood and picked up a 2” wide wooden dowel the was 4 feet long. Then I went to Home Depot and found some threaded machine screwed dowel (looks like a giant screw)
My husband cut the dowel into 4 equal pieces and then using a drill press, drilled a hole to thread the machined metal dowel into basically making a mini coffee table like in the diagram. we used the pretty pegs legs base to spin the dowel into and then added the gorgeous Estelle 700 leg to the base and VOILA! A standing desk for the ages! I could not be more excited to use what was before just a dead zone! Also, peep my cute little pots I am using for my pencils and pens! the taller one is from Homesense and the smaller one is from superstore!
Another awesome thing was the delivery of lighting by Illuminate Vintage!!!! I decided to step out of my comfort zone and picked a mauve and black color scheme and I am so, SO happy I did! I could not be happier. Honestly. lol. The best thing about the company is they are made to order so you can chose the rod length for all of the chandeliers!!! isn’t that so cool?
Final thing I worked on this week was painting my husbands old carpentry school project. A desk! To all those out there that had the same desk, it too can look this good! hahaha I used the same ballet white by Benjamin Moore and then sealed it with a matte sealer ( Rustoleum chalked ultra matte. My fave)
Here it is in the space!
Last ( and biggest ) project will be painting my china cabinet black. After much deliberation, I have decided to paint it to that it feels like it’s completely mine and not just my mothers/ grandmothers.
The rug from Ruggable has arrived as well as the decor from Pampas Gal. So all that is left is styling and a couple last min DIYs. Wish me luck on this final week journey!!!
