Industrial Shelf mini project.

I'm back already. Yes I know. I'm awesome. haha just kidding:)

So I wanted to show you this quick little project that we did the next day after our industrial shelves.

Cool Hey? I thought so. Here's the deets so you can all be up on your way to recreating your own industrial look in your house! We had cut off pieces from the shelves that we thought were just too cool to throw away so we ended up using them to create a plant shelf.  I had done a sliding door project in our bedroom that I feel was not fun enough to blog about but the one good thing that came out of it was the stain I made! I used vinegar and steel wool. It took a few days to dissolve but when it did, it worked  out great! SO fast forward a year and I still had some left in the jar so here it is.

Next we stained the left over pieces of fir with the steel wool stain and they turned out amazing.

After that we picked up some small plumbing pieces from Home Depot that were already darker. They are way more affordable than the big piping hence why we painted our bigger shelf brackets from the previous post.

You need 2 of these.

You need 2 of these.

One curved piece which is a 90 degree angle. I have a 45 degree pictured here and thats wrong. Whoops!

Next you take a pair of gloves because they are kinda greasy and thread them all together so they look like this.

Here's all you need to make your shelf!

Next you screw the bracket to the shelf and then the other end to the wall of your choice. We went through a stud but you can use drywall anchors if there is no stud where you need to hang it. It's awesome right? I'm in love with it!

Now go out and try it! Let me know how it works out or if you have any questions:)

xoxo
